Not sure if nikography figured this out yet, but it is still two clicks to make a label. You click on ‘labels’ for one, and then click on the text (not the checkbox) of the label in the dropdown, and you’re done. The 3rd, 4th, etc. clicks are only because it now allows you to assign multiple labels in the same action: she could have clicked the checkboxes next to ‘school’ ‘mobile’, and ‘misc’ and then clicked ‘apply’ and she would have still saved on clicks compared to the old Gmail method which would have required her to go back up and click on the label dropdown each time.
Gmail didn’t move backwards; they just didn’t give us intuitive instructions I guess.
gmail decided it would be awesome if labels took 3 seperate actions to add to an email. seriously, do they just like to move backwards sometimes?
did someone really say “hey, labels used to take two clicks. let’s make this a little more complicated”
